MultiSet AI is a San Francisco company that sells a visual positioning system (VPS).[^1,2] A VPS is a map of a site against which any camera-equipped device can find its six-degree-of-freedom pose: where it is and which way it faces.[^1,2] Drone to VPS builds such a map from a single drone flight carrying a 360 camera.[^1] 360 video, panoramas and point clouds (sets of measured 3D points) are uploaded through a developer portal.[^1] The company says stitching and scale are handled without a separate photogrammetry step (building 3D models from overlapping photos).[^1]

The output is a map that devices query for their position.[^1] The map belongs to the site, so a phone or headset can later localise against a map a drone made.[^1]

Stated uses are inspection, frontline operations and navigation where GNSS (satellite positioning such as GPS) is unavailable.[^1] The ArduPilot and PX4 drone autopilots can take the VPS pose as an external position estimate.[^1] RTK control points tie the map to real-world coordinates.[^1] MultiSet AI says its median localisation accuracy is under 5 cm.[^1,2]

Positions come back over a REST API with a confidence value, from a managed cloud, a private cloud or on-device.[^1,2] SDKs cover Unity, Web, iOS, Android, Quest and ROS2.[^2] There is a free tier for prototyping and usage-based pricing after that.[^2]
