Aimsun
Aimsun's real-time traffic management twin, Aimsun Live, uses live and historical data to simulate a road network and forecast conditions; the same company makes the Aimsun Next transport simulation software.

Aimsun, a company based in Barcelona, sells software and services for transport planning and operations. Aimsun Next is its simulation platform for impact studies; Aimsun Live is the real-time product, which feeds live and historical traffic data into a simulation of a network and forecasts conditions in the near term so that a traffic control centre can act before congestion builds.
Aimsun's own page lists three deployments. For the Florida Department of Transportation it ranks candidate response plans for regional highway congestion. For National Highways in Oxfordshire it forecasts traffic and nitrogen dioxide up to an hour ahead. For Tees Valley Combined Authority it runs the Tees Valley Traffic Digital Twin, which combines signal data, roadside data and the Bus Open Data Service to spot late-running buses and trigger pre-approved signal timing plans; the authority says the twin is running at the Urban Traffic Management and Control centre in Middlesbrough, initially on ten bus routes, and will be evaluated over a year.
Commercial; Aimsun Next has editions, prices and a free trial listed on the site, and Aimsun also sells traffic data. The current release is Aimsun Next 26 (2026).

helps answer this question
-
Where will traffic go when a road closes or a lane is taken, and can signals or a timetable change keep buses on time?
